Monk is FUBAR in it's current state. It needs a complete remake not overhaul.

Something I still don’t understand: If you are in Formless Shift and you don’t have Opo-Opo Fury, are you supposed to press Dragon Kicl or Leaping Opo? IcyVein says always Leaping Opo, but I swear, I can’t tell if you if I get the bonus potency or a Chakra orb when I do. Like that’s the most annoying thing I find with MNK right now is that I don’t know if my abilities are working or not. And during Perfect Balance, do you need the orb to get the bonus damage to Leaping Opo, or do you always need the orb no matter what? Honestly, my only real hang-up on MNK has always been which rules apply and how fuck does Formless Shift actually work. Coz the game tooltips suck.

Oh man - you're a savior. I loved it, you really helped. I had a hard time wrapping my head around it - I think the shift in a whole new character type (not traditional magic or weapons) I just couldn't do 1+1. Thanks for the great step by step.

I feel like monk needs the treatment that dragoon got, where you can start into blood phase right off rip if you want. Having to use an opener that uses two of the same masterful blitz attacks just doesnt feel right. Maybe bring back anatman and make it so that it gives you both a lunar and solar nadi upon use? It does seem kind of powerful, but it would make it fall in line with the rest of the jobs having an instant "powerful" combo starter.

For those of you who don't want to do double Lunar opener, you will instead end up popping RoF before PB instead of after in the odd windows. The evens will be the same, which sort of makes the Solar odds maybe a little easier on muscle memory, but it depends on the fight kill time which is better.

o/ began prog yesterday, I'm still PFing M1s, as my first raid tier ever it's going somewhat as expected, the fight is fun but PF can be very frustrating at times😅

M2S is a pure nightmare on pf right now, it is pure disgusting, nauceious and pure chaos the amount of marker, color order, yolo strats and yolo players able to clear it on week1 without fully understandig the mechanic is just insane. ppl yolo alarm1, said they will do but randomly to just stop and watch the whole party mariokarting ,and snipe the whole team without knowning why they have to follow, ppl decides to sprint during mariokart for no reason at all, ppl even yolo beat3 now which is pure insane, and when you try to explain the reason and mechanic fully to them, some idiots looking back at you like you are stupid. Took me double of time today on week2 reclear than progging on week1 already

People who hate MNK now but loved Endwalker MNK, are just complaining for no reason. The job is a lot more easy to jump into for newer players now. Anatman is finally gone thank god. The job finally feels like it’s going in the right direction. I’ve played since Stormblood and this is my favorite MNK by far.

I also really like the 3rd boss' enrage. So far, it's a really fun tier.

Mistake on Tempera Grassa: if it breaks, it reduces the cooldown by 30 seconds. Only if the shield doesn't break, either as Tempera Coat or Tempera Grassa, that you suffer the full 120s cooldown.

absolutely terrible guide. I haven't played Monk since I got it to 90 in the last expansion and was hoping to get to know how to play monk after the changes this expansion. Instead all I got was a guy hitting a dummy showing of effects. Like, what happens if I go 2+1 instead of 3 different or 3 similar? Why are there two different Meditations that seem to do the same but have different colors? What positionals got changed?

Just want to point out, Brotherhood now allows you to stack up to ten Chakra which now puts Six Sided Star into the 1580 potency range when spending all of them. Under both Brotherhood and Riddle of Fire, it hits like a truck. Highest I have seen on my own testing has been 160k damage in one hit. Not only that, you can Riddle of Wind while waiting out the 3.9 second GCD. This helps to keep the uptime up a bit and fills the empty space in with faster melee attacks.

This job is BABY easy now. I didnt play it at all in EW bc i hated the removal of positionals, but i picked it up after 7.01 changes to try it out and i feel like i mastered it in like an hour. 2 years of not playing the class with almost no time spent with the beast chakra system and i already feel like theres nothing left to learn. Where's the ceiling? Playing older iterations of Monk felt incredible when you managed your timers perfectly and hit your positionals/took advantage of your tools to cheat them and its just gone. I will say SSS is a super fun skill though. Optimizing that seems like it could be fun. I wish theyd add just a couple positional requirements back.

I watchdd another video where the guy mentions u charge all ur balls then spend all ur balls. From your video it seems u are filling balls then spending it instantly? Which on is correct?

I feel mnk is weaker compared to older versions. Maybe if the riddles were ogcd or six sided star was just a ogcd with max chakras meaning 10 and a cooldown of 120. Or maybe add critical only only by positions once we get oppo etc.. orbs to spend

These changes are great! I can finally play the job I have started the game with! No more looking at Buffs/Debuffs all the time instead at looking at the Boss! Now I can look at the Boss and dont fuk up mechanics!

I'm really enjoying the new changes too! 😊 The buff juggling always felt pretty awkward, so i'm appreciating the new gain/spend style - it just feels more intuitive and i can put my focus into more important stuff (greeding uptime). Do still wish they'd bring back the old positionals tho C:

I just finished the MSQ as a Red Mage and holy crap is it fast paced. I'm hesitant to level a Picto because of the long cast times.

Is there a reason we're still using Opo GCDs for the Double Lunar opener? Wouldn't it ideally be Coeurl GCDs? Opo -- 320 + 460 + 320 = 1100 Potency Raptor -- 420 + 540 + 420 = 1380 Potency Coeurl -- 420 + 520 + 520 = 1460 Potency Does using Opo GCDs make buffs or other things line up better later in the fight? EDIT: Nevermind, forgot about guaranteed crit.
